Terms of Service.

These are the terms you agree to when you use Forktime. Plain English, no legalese games. By creating an account, you agree to all of this. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

Who can use Forktime

• You must be at least 13 years old. If you're 13-17, the "Still growing" mode is available, but a parent or guardian should be aware of your account.
• You must provide accurate profile information so the recommendations make sense for your body.
• Don't share your account. One person per account.

Subscriptions and billing

• Free tier: you get 3 free meal generations forever. After that, you'll see a paywall for additional meal generations. Logging meals, viewing patterns, and grocery list features are also gated on the free vs. paid tier as described in the app.
• Pro tier: $14.99/month or $119/year (USD). Pricing is in test mode during early launch and may change before live billing begins — we'll email you in advance of any change.
• Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle until you cancel. You can cancel anytime through the customer portal we link from inside the app.
• Payment processor: Stripe handles all billing. We don't store your card.
• Refunds: we don't offer prorated refunds for partial periods. If you cancel mid-cycle, you keep Pro access through the end of the billing period. For exceptional cases (double-charge, billing error), email support@forktime.app and we'll work it out.
• Failed payments: if Stripe can't charge your card, you'll lose Pro access and revert to the free tier. Update your card in the customer portal to restore access.

Acceptable use

• Don't try to break the app, scrape it, reverse-engineer it, or use it to abuse our AI model.
• Don't submit content that's illegal, harassing, or fraudulent.
• Don't pretend to be someone you're not.
• Don't resell or redistribute our meal recommendations as your own product.

If you violate these terms, we may suspend or terminate your account without refund.

AI-generated content

Meal recommendations, why-sentences, grocery suggestions, micronutrient estimates, and similar outputs are generated by AI. They're best-effort, not guaranteed accurate. The nutrition numbers are directional estimates — they're useful for "am I close to my target?" but not precise enough for medical use. Always cross-check against package labels for anything safety-critical (allergies in particular).

Your content stays yours

The meals you log, the fridge contents you enter, your measurements, and your saved meals belong to you. We only use them to power the product on your behalf. You can export or delete them anytime by emailing support@forktime.app.

Our content is ours

The Forktime app, brand, code, design, and prompt engineering are our intellectual property. The meal recommendations generated by AI for your specific situation are yours to use — but you can't bundle Forktime's product and resell it.

Service availability

We aim for high uptime but we don't guarantee 100%. We may need to take the service down for maintenance, upgrades, or to handle abuse. We'll do our best to give advance notice for planned downtime. Free users get no SLA. Pro users get the same best-effort service — no formal uptime guarantee in the current pricing tier.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Forktime, Adhiraj Sharma, and any contractors or vendors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages from your use of the app. Our total liability to you in any given year is capped at the amount you paid us in that year (which for free users is $0).

The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We don't promise it will work perfectly for your specific situation, dietary needs, or medical condition.

Termination

• By you: cancel anytime. Email us or use the customer portal. Your data gets deleted within 14 days of an explicit deletion request.
• By us: we may terminate accounts that violate these terms, attempt to defraud the billing system, or abuse the AI service. We'll email you with the reason before termination unless the abuse is severe.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California. If you're outside the United States, you may have additional rights under your local laws that we'll honor where required.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. If we change something material (billing, account termination policies, etc.), we'll email anyone with an active account at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the new terms.
