Forktime helps people on GLP-1 medications and others focused on protein-forward eating get meal recommendations from their fridge. To do that, we collect a small amount of personal information. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We've tried to write it in plain English.
The short version
- We collect your email, your profile (sex, weight, GLP-1 status, etc.), and the meals you log.
- We use that to generate personalized meal recommendations and to bill subscriptions.
- We don't sell your data. We don't show ads.
- You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by emailing support@forktime.app.
What we collect
- Account info: your email address. That's our only required identifier — there are no passwords.
- Profile data: age, sex, height, weight, activity level, dietary restrictions, allergies, GLP-1 medication status, and whether you're still growing (under 18). You provide this during onboarding and can edit it anytime.
- Usage data: meals you log, your fridge contents (as text), measurements you record (weight, energy, mood), and meals you save as favorites.
- Payment info: if you subscribe, your card details are handled directly by Stripe. We never see or store your card. We only see your subscription status and customer ID.
- Technical data: your IP address, browser type, and basic interaction logs (e.g., when you signed in). Standard for any web app.
How we use it
- To run the product: your profile + fridge + situation get sent to our AI model so it can recommend meals. Your meal logs feed the patterns view and the "fix today's gaps" loop.
- To sync across devices: we store your profile, fridge, saved meals, measurements, and meal logs on our servers so you see the same data on your phone and iPad.
- To bill you: if you subscribe, we use your email and a Stripe customer ID to manage your subscription.
- To send transactional emails: magic-link sign-in emails arrive from
noreply@forktime.app. We don't send marketing emails unless you opt in.
Third parties we work with
We use a small number of vendors to run Forktime. Each only sees what they need:
We don't sell your data to anyone, period. We don't share it with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics aggregators.
Your rights
- Access: you can see everything we have about you inside the app (it's all in your profile, fridge, diary, and measurements).
- Export: email support@forktime.app and we'll send you a JSON export of your data within 14 days.
- Delete: email support@forktime.app with the subject "Delete my account." We'll delete your account, your meal logs, your profile, and any cached data within 14 days. Subscription billing stops at the next cycle.
- Correction: you can edit your profile + diary directly in the app at any time.
If you're in California, you have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what we've collected and to opt out of any sale (we don't sell, so this is automatic).
If you're in the EU or UK, you have rights under GDPR, including the right to be forgotten. Email us to exercise those.
Children
Forktime is not intended for users under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. The "Still growing (under 18)" toggle is intended for users 13-17 (or parents managing accounts on behalf of their teens). If you're a parent and you believe your child under 13 has signed up, email us and we'll delete their account immediately.
Security
We use industry-standard practices: HTTPS for all traffic, hashed JWT session cookies, encrypted database connections to Turso, and minimal data collection. We don't store passwords (magic-link auth means there's nothing to leak). That said, no online service is 100% secure — if you suspect your account has been compromised, email us and we'll lock it.
Cookies
We use one cookie: a signed JWT that keeps you logged in for 30 days. We don't use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or advertising cookies.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we collect or use your data, we'll update this page and email anyone with an active account. The "last updated" date at the top will change too.
